His $1.2 trillion so-called bipartisan infrastructure bill—backed by RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)—was nothing more than a Trojan Horse for radical green energy initiatives. Buried inside it was $7.5 billion earmarked for EV charging stations.
Two years later, what does America have to show for it? A grand total of eight charging stations.
Enough is enough. U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) is leading the fight to shut Biden’s disastrous program down for good.
She introduced the Unplug the Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Programs Act to cancel the wasteful project and prevent further taxpayer abuse.
“Joe Biden’s green dreams short-circuited, and it is time to pull the plug,” Ernst declared. “The EV charger boondoggle is a textbook example of waste and inefficiency that needs to be eliminated. Instead of spending hundreds of millions per charging station, I am doing something truly revolutionary in Washington – putting taxpayers first.”
The Trump administration had already halted the program, recognizing it as a massive waste of federal dollars. Now, Ernst and her colleagues want to bury it once and for all and claw back the misused funds.
The Federal Highway Administration has put the brakes on Biden’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program while a full review is conducted.
Transportation Department associate administrator Emily Biondi confirmed that the administration is “suspending approval of state electric vehicle infrastructure deployment plans.”
Biden’s botched EV charger rollout is just a small piece of his failed green energy agenda that has wasted trillions and sent inflation skyrocketing to the worst levels in 40 years.
Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg tried to spin the failure last year on CBS News’ Face the Nation but ended up getting laughed at.
Just Released: Trump White House Collector’s Bobblehead!
“So the President’s goal is to have half a million chargers up by the end of this decade,” Buttigieg claimed. “Now, in order to do a charger, it’s more than just plunking a small device into the ground, there’s utility work, and this is also, really, a new category of federal investment.”
Host Margaret Brennan wasn’t buying it. “Seven or eight, though?” she pressed.
“Engaging them and the first handful—again, by 2030, 500,000 chargers,” Buttigieg stammered. “But again, that’s the absolute very, very beginning stages of the construction to come.”
Translation: They have no real plan, no results, and no excuse.
Joe Biden wrecked the economy, unleashed historic inflation, and funneled billions into green energy fantasies that never materialized.
Now, Congress is stepping up to shut down one of his most embarrassing failures yet—and taxpayers will finally get a win.
