Trump Just Made a MOVE That Could FLIP This State!

“I thank President Trump for his strong endorsement and look forward to working with him to secure our border and make Arizona safe again,” Robson said in a statement shared with the DCNF. “Katie Hobbs has made it harder to live, work, and raise a family safely in this state. Like President Trump, I know how to create jobs. And like President Trump, I will not rest until our border is secure and Arizona families are safe.”

She also took aim at the Biden administration and current Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, accusing them of pushing policies that have weakened the state’s economy and public safety.

“Katie Hobbs and Joe Biden’s insane agenda has made life more expensive and dangerous,” Robson continued. “I will fight every day alongside President Trump for stronger borders, a stronger economy, and a stronger Arizona.”

Robson’s likely opponent, Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs, has faced mounting political troubles since taking office in 2023. Republicans have accused Hobbs of engaging in unethical political dealings, including an alleged pay-to-play scheme involving a local foster care network.

Her tenure has also been marred by election controversies. During the 2024 election cycle, Hobbs clashed with former GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Republican election officials in Maricopa County, where allegations of voter fraud dominated headlines. Lake ultimately lost her bid for the U.S. Senate last year after previously losing the governor’s race to Hobbs by less than one percentage point in 2022.

While Robson benefits from being the first high-profile Republican to declare her candidacy, she may not have a clear path to the nomination. Conservative firebrand Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), the former chair of the House Freedom Caucus, is reportedly weighing a run. If he enters the race, the Arizona GOP primary could become a battle between the party’s establishment and its more populist wing.

Robson, who previously ran for governor in 2022 but lost to Lake in the primary, is likely banking on Trump’s endorsement to solidify her standing this time around. On Wednesday morning, she released a campaign video on social media highlighting the former president’s support.

The upcoming governor’s race in Arizona is expected to be one of the most competitive in the country. The Cook Political Report currently rates the race as a “toss-up.” While Democrats secured the governor’s office in 2022, Republicans have historically held an advantage—winning four of the last six gubernatorial elections since 1991.

Election integrity remains a hot-button issue in the state. In 2024, an administrative error in Maricopa County caused 97,000 residents to receive incorrect ballots. While the Arizona Supreme Court ensured that all affected voters could cast their ballots, the incident fueled Republican concerns over election security. GOP officials continue to push for stronger safeguards to prevent non-citizens from voting.

With Arizona’s governorship up for grabs in 2026, Robson’s campaign—backed by Trump—signals a major effort to reclaim the state for the GOP. As the race heats up, all eyes will be on Arizona to see if Republicans can flip the seat and cement their hold in the battleground state.
