She also took aim at the Biden administration and current Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, accusing them of pushing policies that have weakened the state’s economy and public safety.

Robson’s likely opponent, Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs, has faced mounting political troubles since taking office in 2023. Republicans have accused Hobbs of engaging in unethical political dealings, including an alleged pay-to-play scheme involving a local foster care network.
Her tenure has also been marred by election controversies. During the 2024 election cycle, Hobbs clashed with former GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Republican election officials in Maricopa County, where allegations of voter fraud dominated headlines. Lake ultimately lost her bid for the U.S. Senate last year after previously losing the governor’s race to Hobbs by less than one percentage point in 2022.
While Robson benefits from being the first high-profile Republican to declare her candidacy, she may not have a clear path to the nomination. Conservative firebrand Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), the former chair of the House Freedom Caucus, is reportedly weighing a run.
