Former CIA Director John Brennan is now under intense scrutiny, and not for the reasons he would hope. On Saturday, George Papadopoulos leaked a 2020 email from Brennan that confirmed what conservatives have long suspected—the infamous letter signed by 51 intelligence officials was nothing more than a political ploy.
The letter, organized by Anthony Blinken (now Secretary of State), falsely claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop had “all the classic earmarks” of Russian disinformation. However, as Brennan’s leaked email reveals, these officials knew the laptop was authentic. Their sole purpose in signing the letter was to shield Joe Biden and his family from scrutiny and to counter President Trump’s attacks.
This revelation, which has now gone viral with over 1.7 million views, exposes the intelligence community’s direct involvement in a coordinated disinformation campaign to deceive the American public.
Adding to Brennan’s woes, investigative journalist Paul Sperry released a bombshell report detailing how Brennan played a leading role in perpetuating the now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion narrative.
According to Sperry’s investigation and testimonies from former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe, Brennan knowingly spread false information about Russian interference in the 2016 election.
In a pre-hearing questionnaire obtained by RealClearInvestigations, Senate Democrats asked Ratcliffe whether he agreed with the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that Russia sought to help Trump by undermining Hillary Clinton. Ratcliffe, after reviewing classified intelligence, concluded that Russia’s primary objective was to sow division in the U.S.—not to favor Trump.
More disturbingly, Ratcliffe discovered a 2016 CIA document revealing that Hillary Clinton had personally approved “a plan” to fabricate a Trump-Russia scandal. Brennan, who led the CIA at the time, later incorporated this politically motivated disinformation into the ICA, which was then widely distributed as legitimate intelligence.
To make matters worse, Brennan attached false claims about Trump and Putin to the report—claims originating from the discredited Steele dossier, which was funded by the Clinton campaign.
Ratcliffe, determined to uncover the truth, conducted his own investigation into how the ICA was crafted. After interviewing CIA analysts and reviewing classified material, he found that the intelligence was far weaker than Brennan had claimed. In reality, there was no credible evidence supporting the notion that Putin favored Trump over Clinton.

Yet Brennan’s ICA assessment fueled years of baseless investigations, including the Mueller probe and multiple congressional inquiries. It also became the foundation for thousands of anti-Trump media reports, even earning Pulitzer Prizes for outlets like The Washington Post and The New York Times.
This is not the first time Brennan has been caught manipulating intelligence for political gain. In 2020, he played a key role in the intelligence community’s efforts to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story, falsely dismissing it as Russian disinformation just weeks before the election.
His actions led President Trump to revoke his security clearance, citing a pattern of dishonesty and partisan bias. Brennan, rather than addressing the allegations, dismissed the decision as Trump’s attempt to “get back at those individuals who have criticized him.”
With mounting evidence, Brennan’s lies are unraveling in real time. He has now been exposed twice—once for his role in the Russia collusion hoax and again for orchestrating a cover-up to protect Joe Biden.
