Obama Speechwriter Calls Out Democrats’ Absurd Messaging
Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for Barack Obama, ripped into his own party for the sheer ridiculousness of their messaging. Speaking on his Pod Save America podcast, Favreau didn’t hold back.
“I feel like sometimes giving messaging advice to Democrats is like giving f***ing kids matches,” Favreau vented. “You know, it’s like you say something about like inflation and the cost of living, and suddenly they’re all out there being like, ‘That’s not going to do anything to lower the price of eggs.’”
Democrats have latched onto this bizarre talking point in response to Trump’s decisive actions in his first week—actions that include cracking down on illegal immigration, eliminating federal diversity programs, and taking bold measures to secure the border. Instead of debating these policies on their merits, they’ve resorted to asking how any of it will “lower the price of eggs.”
Favreau, recognizing the absurdity, warned that such attacks lack credibility.
“It’s like, come on, make it fing believable, guys,” he said. “It’s just not believable right now. No one is out there thinking that Donald Trump was going to lower the price of eggs or lower the cost of everything after a fing week.”
Biden’s Policies Led to Soaring Prices—Not Trump
Democrats seem to forget that it was Biden’s policies—not Trump’s—that drove inflation to record levels and sent grocery bills through the roof. Under Biden, egg prices jumped a staggering 65%, forcing American families to pay more at the checkout line while wages failed to keep up.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t mince words when shutting down this desperate narrative. Speaking at a press briefing, she set the record straight.
“I would like to point out to each and every one of you, that in 2024, when Joe Biden was in the Oval Office or upstairs in the residence sleeping, I’m not so sure, egg prices increased 65% in this country,” Leavitt stated.
She laid the blame squarely on Biden’s inflationary economic policies, which fueled higher costs on everything from groceries to gasoline. But that’s not all—his administration also contributed directly to the egg shortage.
Biden’s Administration Ordered the Mass Killing of Chickens
As if inflation wasn’t bad enough, Biden’s Department of Agriculture oversaw the mass culling of more than 100 million chickens in response to a bird flu outbreak. This drastic action wiped out a massive portion of the country’s egg-laying population, sending supply plummeting and prices skyrocketing.
Leavitt exposed this truth during the same press briefing.
“As far as the egg shortage, what’s also contributing to that is that the Biden administration and the Department of Agriculture directed the mass killing of more than 100 million chickens, which has led to a lack of chicken supply in this country, therefore, a lack of egg supply, which is leading to the shortage,” she explained.
