Patel also highlighted his extensive support from law enforcement, countering the claims that he is unqualified for the role.
“And any accusations that I would put political bias before the Constitution are grotesquely unfair and I will have you reminded I have been endorsed by over 300,000 law enforcement officers to become the next director of the FBI. Let’s ask them,” he added.
Throughout the hearing, Patel rejected attempts by Democrats to take his past comments out of context for political gain. He condemned these tactics as deceptive and divisive.
“In the collective, all of those statements are taken out of grotesque context,” Patel asserted.
Patel accused his critics of deliberately spreading false narratives to undermine his candidacy and create unnecessary political discord. He vowed to restore the integrity of the FBI if confirmed.
“The only thing that will matter if I am confirmed as director of the FBI is a de-weaponized, depoliticized system of law enforcement completely devoted to rigorous obedience of the Constitution and a singular standard of justice,” he said.

Patel emphasized his unwavering respect for law enforcement and his dedication to upholding the Constitution. He made it clear that violence against police officers would never be tolerated.
“There can never be a tolerance for violence against law enforcement and anyone that commits an act of violence against law enforcement must be investigated, prosecuted, and imprisoned. On Jan. 6, I said the same thing about acts against law enforcement,” Patel stated.

He also commended the efforts of the Capitol Police on January 6 and stressed that his goal is to expose corruption within government.
Democrats also attempted to link Patel to QAnon conspiracy theories, but he categorically rejected those claims.
“I have publicly … rejected outright QAnon baseless conspiracy theories or any other baseless conspiracy theories. They must be addressed head-on with the truth,” he clarified.
In his opening remarks, Patel outlined his dedication to justice, fairness, and upholding American values, stating that the Constitution has guided his career from the start.
“Protecting the rights of the Constitution is of the utmost importance to me,” Patel affirmed.
His experience as a public defender, he explained, taught him the necessity of strictly following the law and ensuring equal justice for all.
Patel unveiled his two-part strategy to rebuild trust in the FBI. First, he vowed to prioritize tackling violent crime.
“We must tackle violent crime. The priority of the FBI, if I am confirmed, is to ensure that our communities are protected and safeguarded and our children have parks to play in and not needles to walk over. The way we do this: we let good cops be cops,” he said.
The second part of his plan involves ensuring rigorous oversight from Congress to maintain transparency.
“The public trust can only be restored if there is full transparency,” Patel emphasized.
He committed to working closely with Congress and pledged to provide swift, complete answers to appropriate inquiries.
“I am committed to working alongside the dedicated men and women of the FBI,” Patel declared. “They are our warriors of justice and I will always have their backs because they have the backs of the American people.”
Despite relentless attempts by Senate Democrats to smear Patel, he remained firm in his principles. His performance in the hearing showcased his deep respect for law enforcement, his commitment to the Constitution, and his readiness to lead the FBI in restoring public trust.
With strong support from law enforcement officers nationwide, Patel’s confirmation battle is far from over. But one thing is certain—he is not backing down from the fight to bring accountability and integrity back to the FBI.
