As President-elect Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House, corporate donations for his 2025 inauguration are pouring in. Ford Motor Company has become the latest major corporation to contribute a hefty seven-figure sum, signaling its intent to strengthen ties with the incoming administration.
Both Ford and General Motors have made standalone $1 million donations to the inauguration fund, according to The Western Journal. These contributions place them alongside corporate heavyweights like Facebook, Amazon, and OpenAI, which have each also pledged $1 million. Other companies such as Goldman Sachs, Robinhood, and Uber have made smaller but still significant contributions. In addition to financial support, Ford and GM will supply fleets of vehicles for Trump’s transportation during the January 20th celebrations.

A Familiar Playbook for Ford and GM
This isn’t the first time these auto giants have backed Trump. In 2017, Ford donated $250,000, while GM gave $500,000 for his first inauguration. According to OpenSecrets, the increased donations this year suggest the companies are keen to secure Trump’s attention on federal policies concerning electric vehicle (EV) subsidies and domestic manufacturing.
