At the time, Dr. Stuart Fischer, a Yale-trained physician, suggested the possibility of Parkinson’s disease.

Dr. Robert H. Eckel, a board member of the American Diabetes Association, also weighed in, suggesting Hanks’ type II diabetes could play a role.
