Once a bastion of liberal commentary, the network is grappling with a “tune-out” phenomenon as viewers flee in droves, citing dissatisfaction with the content and the network’s perceived hypocrisy.
The network’s internal strife is palpable. Anchors such as Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, hosts of Morning Joe, have drawn criticism not just from viewers but also from colleagues. Their recent meeting with President-elect Donald Trump has sparked accusations of hypocrisy, especially after they spent much of the year labeling Trump a “fascist.” Meanwhile, Rachel Maddow, MSNBC’s highest-paid anchor, continues to draw scrutiny for commanding a hefty salary despite overseeing a dramatic decline in viewership.

According to The Gateway Pundit, primetime shows Alex Wagner Tonight, Inside with Jen Psaki, and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell all suffered their lowest audience scores ever within the span of a single week. This dip is particularly surprising given the abundance of breaking news, including the shooting of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, a high-profile manhunt, and President Joe Biden’s controversial pardon of his son, Hunter.
