Breaking: Hunter Biden Tax Case Takes Shocking Turn!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Special Counsel Weiss responded forcefully in court filings, rejecting the notion that Hunter Biden’s prosecution was politically motivated. “There was none and never has been any evidence of vindictive or selective prosecution in this case,” Weiss stated.

Hunter Biden, who recently announced his pardon to a California federal court, is requesting the dismissal of his tax case. He is also seeking similar leniency in Delaware, where he was convicted on federal firearms charges earlier this year. Weiss, however, urged the court to treat the pardon as a conclusion to the case rather than grounds for immediate dismissal of charges.

Weiss emphasized that while the pardon absolves Hunter Biden of legal consequences, it does not negate the grand jury’s findings or suggest flaws in the indictment. He clarified, “The defendant’s false allegation that the charges were motivated by an improper motive does not justify the dismissal of his charges.” Weiss added that media reports of the pardon are yet to be officially confirmed by the administration.

The resolution of Hunter Biden’s legal battles now lies in the hands of federal judges. In California, U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi has not yet decided on dismissing the tax charges. Meanwhile, in Delaware, Judge Maryellen Noreika stated she would dismiss the gun charges once the pardon is formally recorded. However, she has also requested Weiss to confirm whether his office objects to the dismissal.

Weiss reiterated his position in the Delaware case, filing a similar document to oppose the dismissal of charges.

President Biden’s unexpected pardon has left the White House facing tough questions about its credibility. During Monday’s press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced pointed inquiries from reporters about whether the administration had misled the American public.

“You have said repeatedly, yourself, since the election, and the president has said for months, no pardon was coming. I just — you know, I wanted to ask you, could those statements not be seen as lies from the American people?” a reporter asked.

Jean-Pierre defended the president, stating, “First of all, one of the things that the president always believes is to be truthful to the American people. That is something that he always truly believes.” She added that the president had wrestled with the decision over the weekend, citing a belief that “raw politics” had tainted the justice system.

The pardon has sparked widespread criticism, with detractors accusing the president of undermining the integrity of the justice system. Others, however, argue that the move was necessary to counter perceived injustices in Hunter Biden’s prosecution.

As the courts deliberate, the controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s pardon is far from over. The coming weeks will reveal whether this act of clemency will be seen as a just correction or a politically motivated decision that fuels public skepticism.
