As Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House, a controversial new phenomenon is emerging: liberal women choosing sterilization as a response to his presidency. Newsweek’s recent report highlights this alarming trend, where women cite fears over losing abortion access and reproductive rights as key motivators for undergoing permanent surgical procedures. The stories range from expressions of political defiance to accounts of personal despair, sparking heated debates nationwide.
The Newsweek piece profiles five women who opted for sterilization following Trump’s election win. Among them is Lydia Echols, a 28-year-old Texan who expressed her frustration with the political climate.
“If I am to be denied any rights in the next four (or more) years, I will not give them up without a fight,” Echols told the outlet. Her decision to remove her fallopian tubes represents what she views as a preemptive strike against potential restrictions on her reproductive autonomy.

Less democrats are good. Go for it.
