Michigan running back Kalel Mullings didn’t hold back his criticism of Ohio State’s response. “For such a great game, you hate to see stuff like that after the game,” Mullings said. “That’s just bad for the sport, bad for college football. But at the end of the day, some people gotta learn how to lose.”

“You can’t be fighting and stuff just because you lost a game. All that fighting, we had 60 minutes, we had four quarters to do all that fighting. And now people want to talk and fight, that’s wrong. It’s just bad for the game. Classless, in my opinion. People gotta be better.”

The game itself marked a significant upset. Michigan entered the match unranked and faced off against the second-ranked Buckeyes as massive underdogs. With the victory, the Wolverines improved to 7-5, while Ohio State, now 10-2, suffered a blow to their postseason aspirations.

Michigan’s win highlighted their defense’s dominance, holding the Buckeyes to just 10 points. Wolverines quarterback David Warren struggled, throwing for only 62 yards and two interceptions, but Mullings carried the offense with 116 rushing yards and a touchdown.

However, post-game antics overshadowed Michigan’s achievement. Defensive lineman Mason Graham took a verbal jab at the Buckeyes, shouting, “Ohio State p—y’s” as the fracas died down. Meanwhile, Michigan edge rusher Chibi Anwunah had to be escorted away by security after being pepper-sprayed.

Adding to the drama, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore waved goodbye to Ohio State fans as the clock ticked down, a gesture that drew criticism from Fox commentator Gus Johnson. “Unnecessary gesture by the Wolverines,” Johnson said during the broadcast. “They won the game, no need to be disrespectful.”

The incident sparked a wave of reactions online and across the sports world, with many condemning the post-game brawl as “classless” and “bad for the sport.” Others defended Michigan’s actions, pointing to the intensity of the rivalry and the emotions involved in such a high-stakes game.

In a rivalry as storied as Michigan-Ohio State, emotions always run high. But this latest chapter leaves fans wondering whether the line between competition and chaos has been irreparably blurred. With passions reignited, the stage is set for even more drama in next year’s showdown.
