The political left is up in arms over Donald Trump’s cabinet selections, with New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at the forefront of the outrage. But her recent attacks on Tulsi Gabbard have not only backfired, they’ve exposed a fundamental misunderstanding of Gabbard’s stance on foreign policy.
Ocasio-Cortez, known for her passionate left-wing rhetoric, wasted no time throwing shade at Gabbard, wrongly accusing her of being a pro-war figure. But the backlash was swift, and it only served to fuel Gabbard’s growing influence within conservative circles.

The confrontation began when Ocasio-Cortez appeared on MSNBC’s The ReidOut with Joy Reid, where she leveled accusations at Gabbard, claiming that her nomination to Trump’s administration was nothing more than a “pro-war” decision. “And Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination, as much as she says that she’s an anti-war person, she’s not,” Ocasio-Cortez said, with her usual fervor. “She supports very pro-war individuals… and let’s be very clear — a Tulsi Gabbard nomination is a pro-war nomination globally. Point blank, period,” she added.
