Vice President Kamala Harris is once again in the spotlight, this time for a comment made during a campaign rally in Wisconsin that has set off a wave of backlash from Christian voters. The incident occurred during Harris’s stop in La Crosse, where she was rallying support for her 2024 presidential campaign, focusing heavily on reproductive rights and other progressive issues. But what she said after a heckler shouted “Jesus is Lord!” has left many questioning her respect for faith communities.
The vice president, while addressing her supporters, was interrupted by an attendee who shouted the Christian proclamation. Instead of brushing off the disruption or addressing it with tolerance, Harris responded, “Oh, I think you guys are at the wrong rally,” a remark many Christians have found dismissive and offensive.

One attendee, who was present at the rally, expressed her dismay in a video posted on social media. “Well today I found out that Kamala Harris was coming to my town, so I decided to go. I wanted to see the differences,” she said. “Notably I had to show my ID to get in to see her. But anyway, I was making a video talking actually about how sad I was that the loudest cheering at the rather small event came in support of abortion. When I panned over to the crowd and to her speaking and I caught something I wasn’t expecting.”
