Obama Judge Unseals Jack Smith’s Evidence Against Trump!

In a decision that adds fuel to the ongoing legal battles surrounding former President Donald Trump, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has agreed to unseal a critical portion of evidence provided by Special Counsel Jack Smith. This evidence, attached to a 165-page ‘opening brief,’ has been at the center of Trump’s defense team’s efforts to keep it confidential.

Earlier on Thursday, Trump’s legal team urged Judge Chutkan to block the unsealing of Smith’s evidence appendix, arguing that making this information public could unfairly influence the 2024 presidential election. They suggested that this move is part of a broader attempt to damage Trump’s re-election campaign. “There should be no further disclosures at this time of the so-called ‘evidence’ that the Special Counsel’s Office has unlawfully cherry-picked and mischaracterized,” Trump’s lawyers wrote, stressing that these actions come “during early voting in the 2024 presidential election.”

Despite the defense’s protests, Judge Chutkan swiftly denied Trump’s request. However, she paused the release of the evidence for seven days, allowing Trump’s legal team to assess their next steps. This move provides a temporary reprieve, but the expectation is that the evidence will soon become public, igniting further controversy.
