J6 Documents Destroy Dems’ Case Against Trump!

Testimony from other officials also sheds light on the military’s decision-making leading up to the Capitol breach. According to former District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee, Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy played a central role in rejecting calls for stronger security measures. Contee recalls McCarthy’s resistance, saying, “He did not initially say, ‘Yes, you get the National Guard responding.’ What was stated to me was that he was not inclined to fulfill the request with Guardsmen simply because the optics of it was bad.”

This decision, driven by concerns over the political ramifications, highlights the significant influence of “optics” in the military’s response. Former Defense Secretary Christopher Miller similarly described how politics impacted security decisions, admitting that the military’s positioning of the National Guard in D.C. was influenced by concerns over public perception.

Milley’s testimony also revealed that the initial plan, supported by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, involved positioning National Guardsmen on traffic control points and Metro stations rather than guarding the Capitol. Milley explained that Mayor Bowser and her police department had requested this plan, which focused on freeing up credentialed law enforcement to arrest individuals rather than using National Guard troops to directly protect the Capitol.

As violence escalated on January 6th, the failure to quickly deploy additional forces had devastating consequences. Ashlee Babbitt, a Trump supporter, was shot and killed by a Capitol police officer during the breach. Despite Trump’s early requests for troops, it took several hours for the Pentagon to mobilize a stronger security force to handle the growing unrest.

McCarthy eventually authorized 400 Guardsmen for traffic control in D.C., but their use of force was severely limited. A memo from McCarthy’s office sent the day before the protests outlined that the National Guard would not be authorized to use weapons, ammunition, or body armor without further authorization. This hesitation is now at the center of fresh criticism.

Rep. Loudermilk took to social media to voice his concerns, writing, “President Trump directed senior DoD leaders to ensure events on J6 be safe. They ignored his guidance, prioritized optics concerns over security, and pushed a flawed narrative in their IG report.” Loudermilk, along with his Republican colleagues, argues that the American public deserves to know the full truth about the security failures on that day.

Former Defense Secretary Miller also weighed in, revealing that Trump had floated the idea of deploying “10,000 troops” ahead of January 6th. However, Miller dismissed this as political rhetoric rather than a formal order. “I interpreted it as a bit of presidential banter,” Miller testified.

Beyond the security failures, the interviews exposed deep tensions between Trump and the military leadership. In a particularly pointed comment, Miller compared Trump’s lengthy speeches to those of Fidel Castro, the Cuban communist leader. “Everyone was like, ‘Did you listen to the President’s speech?’ I’m like, ‘The guy speaks for 90 minutes, it’s like Castro or something. No. I’ve got work to do,” Miller remarked.

These revelations cast a new light on the events leading up to the January 6th riot, showing that Trump’s efforts to bolster security were thwarted by military leaders more concerned with political fallout than protecting the Capitol. The investigation led by House Republicans seeks to expose these missteps, arguing that the narrative blaming Trump has been deliberately skewed.

The American public may soon learn the full extent of these decisions as Republicans push for further transparency into the events of that fateful day.
