In a new forecast sure to send shockwaves through the 2024 political landscape, famed statistician Nate Silver, known for his Democratic-leaning views, has released a chilling outlook for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. As the race heats up, Silver’s model paints a grim picture for Harris, showing a steep decline in her chances of securing the White House. Instead, former President Donald Trump is now the clear frontrunner, significantly outpacing Harris in key battleground states.
According to Silver’s latest projection, Trump now holds a commanding 60.1% chance of winning the Electoral College, a sharp rise from just a few weeks ago. Back in late August, Silver’s model had Harris with a slight lead at 53.5%, while Trump trailed with 46.1%. However, in a dramatic shift, Trump’s odds surged to 61.5%, leaving Harris with a dwindling 38.3% chance of victory. These numbers, taken from early September polling data, underscore the stark change in the political tide.

Silver’s forecast also emphasizes Trump’s growing dominance in critical swing states that are likely to determine the election’s outcome. In Pennsylvania, a pivotal state, Trump now leads Harris 62% to 38%, a staggering margin that would prove disastrous for the Democrats. Similarly, in Michigan and Wisconsin, two other crucial states, Trump edges out Harris with a 52-48% advantage. These states, once thought to be within reach for the Democrats, are now shifting firmly into Trump’s column.
