The incident unfolded after Trump attended a memorial event at the invitation of the families of the fallen. These families specifically requested Trump’s presence to honor the sacrifice of their loved ones. Vice President Harris, however, seized the opportunity to accuse Trump of disrespecting “sacred ground” by laying a wreath in their honor. She went further, falsely claiming that Trump had an “altercation” with cemetery staff, an accusation that has since been debunked.
