The incident unfolded in the early hours, with the first shots ringing out at 2:15 a.m., according to statements from base officials. “It was an off-base shooting from a passing vehicle that fired shots towards the gate, prompting our security forces to respond,” Stefanie Antosh, a representative for the base, confirmed in a statement cited by the Associated Press.
