House Passes Draft Bill for 18-26 Year Olds!

Rep. Greene publicly explained her opposition, particularly criticizing the continued financial support to Ukraine embedded within the NDAA. She stated, “Today I voted NO on the NDAA. While there were many great things in the bill, it still allocates the annual $300 million to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative which is used to fund the war in Ukraine. I am adamantly opposed to the war in Ukraine and do not think funding a foreign war should be a mandatory annual funding requirement in our US military funding bill.”

In addition to the draft registration amendment, the NDAA includes significant pay raises for military personnel, with a historic 19.5% increase for junior enlisted members and 4.5% for others. Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) emphasized the bill’s broader impact, stating, “This legislation strengthens our military readiness and capabilities while improving housing, childcare, and the overall quality of integral aspects for the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.”

Huizenga also highlighted his contributions to the bill, which include amendments aimed at enhancing NATO’s military readiness, safeguarding U.S. military data from foreign adversaries, particularly China, and addressing strategic concerns in the Arctic Region amid increased Russian and Chinese activities.
