This change is particularly pronounced among black men, who appear to be disenchanted with what they perceive as ineffective strategies of pandering and fear-mongering traditionally employed by the Democrats. The sentiment was encapsulated earlier this year by rapper 50 Cent, who openly speculated, “maybe Trump is the answer” and expressed a belief that Trump could be poised for a return to the presidency.

While the rapper, born Curtis James Jackson III, has not thrown his full support behind any candidate, his interactions and comments during a recent visit to Capitol Hill have fueled speculation. In a conversation with Nikole Killion of CBS News, 50 Cent acknowledged a growing connection between black men and Trump, noting, “I see [black men] identifying with Trump because they got RICO charges,” referencing the RICO charge levied against Trump in Georgia.
