Former White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx, often recognized for her signature scarves, has once again made headlines with a contentious proposal. Now serving as the CEO of Armata Pharmaceuticals, Birx has turned her attention to the U.S. dairy industry with a new testing strategy aimed at combating the spread of bird flu.
In her recent appearance on CNN, Dr. Birx proposed rigorous weekly testing for both cows and dairy workers to identify asymptomatic cases of bird flu. Her approach echoes the strategies used during the COVID-19 pandemic, which many criticized for causing severe economic repercussions and impinging on personal freedoms.
