“And again, we’re gonna make a big play for New York, presidentially,” Trump reiterated. “And so get out and join us. It’s gonna be one of the greatest wins, I think, in the history of the state. There’s no question about it and I do believe we can do it.”

In a strategic move to drum up support, Trump has conducted rallies in critical areas of New York, including the Bronx, the home district of progressive Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. His campaign is planning further engagements, including a notable rally at Madison Square Garden.

During a stop at a lower Manhattan construction site before his court appearance, Trump received a warm welcome from workers. He expressed his campaign’s intent to honor New York’s essential workers such as police officers, firefighters, and teachers at upcoming rallies, emphasizing the importance of these community pillars.

In his speeches, Trump has not shied away from attacking the current administration under President Joe Biden. He criticized Biden’s economic policies, his stance on border control, and the handling of anti-Israel protests at universities. Trump lamented the allocation of police resources to secure courthouses while campuses remained vulnerable.

“This courthouse is locked down, and there’s not a person within five blocks. They have more police here,” Trump observed, highlighting what he perceives as misplaced priorities.

Trump also pointed to the recent rise in his poll numbers, which he attributes to the public’s reaction to the ongoing issues he is highlighting. His campaign received a further boost from Kellyanne Conway, his former campaign manager, during a segment on Fox Business. Conway discussed recent polling data that showed Trump closing the gap with Biden in New York, a development she believes signifies trouble for Biden.

“What is going on is that Trump is actually expanding his coalition, core constituency, looks, feels different, larger and more diverse than in the past, 2016 and 2020. Why, Larry?” she explained. “It includes more union households than in 2016 when that helped us win in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ohio.”
