The President’s trip centered on the significant enhancements provided by the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, a bipartisan effort ratified in August 2022.

The White House emphasized the historic nature of the legislation, stating, “President Biden signed the landmark bipartisan Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act into law in August 2022, enacting the most significant expansion of benefits and services for toxic exposed veterans in more than 30 years.” Named after Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson, a decorated combat medic who succumbed to a rare lung cancer, the act aims to provide critical benefits to veterans of all generations affected by toxic exposures during their service.

However, the event in Nashua didn’t seem to mirror the enthusiasm the administration hoped to generate. A circulating video from the event showcased a less than energetic crowd, prompting some attendees to comment on the subdued atmosphere, likening it to a wake. This tepid response was contrasted sharply by a visible presence of Trump supporters in Nashua, who showed up to protest Biden’s policies.
