As the Israel-Gaza conflict escalates, President Joe Biden finds himself caught in a precarious position, unable to please the divided factions within his own party. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll highlights the growing discontent among Democrats over Biden’s handling of the situation, which could spell trouble for his electoral prospects.
Approximately 44% of Democratic registered voters expressed dissatisfaction with Biden’s approach to the conflict, a situation that could potentially drive away crucial votes. The poll surveyed 3,934 U.S. adults, including 3,208 registered voters, revealing a vulnerability in Biden’s base. Particularly concerning for the President is that only 77% of these dissatisfied Democrats would still support him over former President Donald Trump, a drop from the 93% who approve of his Gaza policy.

Trump, on the other hand, is capitalizing on this division by appealing to Jewish and young voters disillusioned with Biden’s perceived indecisiveness. Trump’s consistent pro-Israel stance, underscored by actions like moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, starkly contrasts with what many see as Biden’s fluctuating policies.
