Muslim Families Granted Exemption from LGBTQ Lessons!

>>Continued From the Previous Page <<

Following correspondence from True North Legal and First Liberty Institute, St. Louis Park public schools in Minnesota underwent a substantial transformation. Many pious Muslim families in Somalia expressed displeasure that their elementary school children were being taught sexually suggestive content in English classes. They demanded the option to skip classes that feature discussions and literature that support LGBTQ-affirming authors. Their requests were previously turned down by the district, in violation of both state and First Amendment laws. But following the intervention of the law firms, the elementary, middle, and high schools have now been granted the opt-out requests.

“We believe that we have a sacred obligation to teach the principles of our faith to our children without being undermined by the schools. We are grateful to First Liberty for helping us and to the school for recognizing the importance of our faith,” said Fatuma Irshat, one of the mothers.

Another parent, Hodan Hassan, said, “We came to America because of its rich heritage of protecting religious liberty and the opportunity to raise our children in a place where they have access to success. We were shocked that our children were being taught material that violates our beliefs, but we’re grateful that the school has granted our opt-out requests.”

ALERT! Major Water Restrictions In Effect!

The “Queer Caucus” in Minnesota declared their disagreement with the District’s choice.
