The trial of former President Donald Trump for his alleged role in the 2016 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels is scheduled for next month. Trump entered a not guilty plea to the charges, notwithstanding his denial of the affair.
Trump must manage his first trial with obligations on the campaign road while adhering to a demanding court schedule. His federal 2020 election trial was originally supposed to begin on March 4th, but it has been delayed.

This Thursday, the former president filed an appeal, which may cause the Supreme Court to postpone the trial while it considers the case. The case is set to resume on Thursday after the supervising judge rejected Trump’s request for his removal.
According to CNN, Judge Juan Merchan said that jury selection for the trial will begin on March 25.
A grand jury in Manhattan charged Trump on 34 charges of first-degree business record falsification in March of last year. His plea to the charges was not guilty. According to the prosecution, Trump paid Daniels $130,000 as a pawn in a “catch and kill” scheme.
Because of the New York indictment, Trump stands a historic first as the first president to face criminal charges, alive or dead. The continuing hush money issue is only one of the many legal challenges he faces as he seeks the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 and a possible second term.
The moment the court declared that the trial would go on, Trump’s attorneys swiftly protested, saying they planned to discuss the trial’s scheduling at the hearing.
Leading member of Trump’s legal team Todd Blanche called the ruling a “serious injustice,” citing the previous president’s numerous legal entanglements as proof.
