NYC Starts to Grasp San Francisco’s Disturbing Issue!

Like border cities, New York City struggles with a significant migrant population and a persistent, disagreeable stench in its neighborhoods due to a sewage crisis.

For years, people have used the parks and sidewalks in San Francisco as makeshift lavatories.

According to Newsday, more than 170,000 migrants have arrived in New York City since spring 2022, giving rise to a migration crisis similar to that of San Francisco.

These days, Tompkins Square Park in New York City is a regrettable sight. The park has become a huge bathroom as a result of the demolition of three port-a-potties, according to a January 20 New York Post article.

They had no idea that their action would have a more sinister effect.

Migrants have already transformed the park into a makeshift relief area as a result of their excruciating wait for a desired position in the neighborhood shelter.

“There was a cup of what I thought was somebody’s discarded hot chocolate that turned out to be not hot chocolate,” stated John Cashvan, a street sweeper, as reported by the Post.

“Most of them want to pee in plastic cups rather than the ground, and they leave them on people’s doorsteps,” Garrett Rosso, a local, told the publication.

Users on social media took notice of the story:

According to the Post, locals on Manhattan’s Lower East Side are upset with the municipal government for allegedly ignoring the wave of immigrants living there.

Their message is very clear: before accepting a big number of migrants, we must have a well-thought-out strategy in place to guarantee their good care.

“The bathrooms are an issue. We’ve tried to engage administration regarding this [but] we have not as of this moment been successful,” Community Board 3 district manager Susan Stetzer told the Post.

She went on to say that migrants face a “humanitarian crisis” when they are allowed to remain outside in subfreezing weather.
