Investigate with the Senate Special Committee on Investigations to find the truth. Our committee is able to begin an exhaustive legislative investigation, supported by the ability to summon witnesses, issue subpoenas, and enforce compliance. Remain educated and make people answerable.

Prior to Friday’s vote, Alpharetta-based Republican state senator Brandon Beach voiced his concerns on the Senate floor. He said, “I am deeply troubled by the poor judgment of our D.A., Fani Willis,” and went on to add, “I believe this scheme … was a fraud against the court and a fraud against the taxpayer.”

Presenting the energetic committee assigned to the investigations! made up of three minimum members representing the minority party and a maximum of nine members overall. These members will be selected by hand, and a chairperson will be appointed by the Senate Committee on Assignments. Possessing formidable investigative abilities, they are able to call witnesses, administer oaths, and demand documents.

Georgia’s legal system has been called into question by contentious accusations made against DA Willis. If these accusations are validated, they have the potential to significantly alter state laws, particularly those concerning the designation and compensation of special assistant district attorneys. Additionally, they might necessitate changes to state funding.

The resolution’s provisions will be implemented with the help of well-planned meetings overseen by the committee chairperson and financial support from Senate appropriations. The Senate will be informed of the committee’s conclusions, which may include suggestions for modifications to the legislation or a reallocation of funds.

Senator Josh McLaurin, a Democrat, criticizes Republicans for their “political theater” by forming a special committee to investigate Willis.

McLaurin questioned the motive behind the move, asking, “Why are we creating a new entity with extraordinary subpoena power and the ability to put people under oath for only this issue?”

Republican Senator Greg Dolezal looks into Willis’s allegations and defends the legislature’s use of taxpayer funds as a watchdog.

Dolezal said, “This resolution is about an officer of the state of Georgia … and how they are using state funds,” explaining, “This falls squarely within what we should be talking about and what we should be addressing.”

Michael Roman, one of Trump’s co-defendants, filed court documents last month that include accusations against Willis, the person in charge of prosecuting Trump for alleged election meddling. According to the documents, Willis is having a “improper” relationship with Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor she named to help with the potential prosecution of the next US President. According to the documents, Wade has allegedly charged taxpayers approximately $600,000 since January 2022, despite his purported lack of experience in RICO and felony prosecutions.

According to Roman’s filing, in November 2021, Wade charged Fulton County for an incredible twenty-four hours of work in a single day. This happened immediately following his appointment as special prosecutor. Remarkably, it seems that Willis exploited this circumstance and profited personally from her alleged lover’s fictitious high salary. It is thought that they paid for lavish vacations together with these illicit gains.
