MLB Icon Adam Schiff: ‘You Lied to Millions!

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), retired Major League Baseball all-star Steve Garvey, and California Representatives Katie Porter and Barbara Lee engaged in a fierce exchange during Monday’s U.S. Senate debate in California. Garvey accused Schiff of having “lied to 300 million people.”

At that point in the argument, Garvey reminded the Californian public bluntly and said to Schiff, “I think you’ve been censured for lying.”

Of course, the term “censure” refers to the Republican majority vote to publicly admonish Schiff for remarks he made while leading the House Intelligence Committee—a position he relinquished during GOP rule—that purportedly linked former President Donald J. Trump to the Russian government of Vladimir Putin. The resolution claimed that Schiff had influential roles throughout Trump’s first term. “abused this trust by saying there was evidence of collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia.”

“Representative Schiff purposely deceived his Committee, Congress, and the American people,” The resolution also said, “Representative Schiff abused this trust by alleging he had evidence of collusion that, as is clear from reports by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, and Special Counsel Durham, never existed.”

According to Daily Wire, “the allegation that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to interfere in the 2016 Presidential election has been revealed as false by numerous in-depth investigations.”

In response to Garvey, Schiff stated,

“I was just called a liar by Mr. Garvey. Mr. Garvey, I was censured for standing up to a corrupt president. And you know something? I would do it all over again. Because that corrupt president, that president has been indicted with 91 felony counts, that president that you won’t refuse to support. Yeah, he’s a danger, and I will stand up to him and (former House Speaker) Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan and any of those MAGA enablers of his in the Congress. The reason why our democracy is in trouble is because folks don’t have the courage to stand up when they need to.”

However, Garvey wouldn’t allow him to brag, answering with, “Sir, you lied to 300 million people and you can’t take that back.”

The results of a poll conducted by UC Berkeley reveal the leading candidates and the election trigger for the next open primary election in California.
Put March 5, 2024, on your calendars for California’s open-primary election. With candidates from all parties running, this race looks to be quite competitive. According to a recent UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies survey, Adam Schiff leads the field with 21 percent of potential voters supporting him. Garvey receives 13 percent of the vote, with state representative Kate Porter, a Democrat, coming in second with 17 percent, according to Politico. It’s interesting to note that this important election was brought on by the terrible death of Senator Diane Feinstein.
