When it came to the border problem, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana addressed President Joe Biden personally and told him to “do your job.”
Johnson spoke on “The Ingraham Angle,” a popular Fox News program, on Democrats’ seeming unwillingness to travel to the southern border and see the situation firsthand.

The speaker was asked if, under duress, he would acquiesce to the border measures put out by the Democrats.
“No one is strong-arming me. I told the president — I looked right across the table from him in the Cabinet officials’ room and I said, ‘Mr. President, you have the authority right now to end this catastrophe. It’s your actions that created it,’” Johnson said.
He disclosed that he sent Biden sixty-four thoroughly documented examples of his administration’s activities that precipitated the border issue.
The speaker asserts that no new legislation is necessary and that the president should take responsibility for solving the issue. Biden needs to step up and enforce the law as it is.
“I’ve cited to him — read him the legal authority on the phone on Thursday of last week that he could take,” Regarding the president, Johnson stated.
He continued by saying that Biden had stated he was prepared to take “big things” on the border situation.
“Well, Hallelujah. Mr. President — President Biden, do your job. Fix the catastrophe that you’ve created,” the speaker said. “It’s an unspeakable humanitarian catastrophe. A national security catastrophe.”
ALERT! Major Water Restrictions In Effect!
In a recent interview, host Laura Ingraham asked Johnson about Sen. James Lankford, a Republican from Oklahoma, and his impending bill. According to many reports, this law allegedly includes provisions for amnesty for undocumented immigrants, restrictions on deportations, and the issuance of new green cards.
Langford has categorically refuted these rumors as untrue.
Johnson said that before we make any remarks, we must wait for Langford’s bill to be published.
“I’m hopeful that they’ll [in the Senate] come up with something meaningful,” he said.
House Bill 2, which was presented by Republican Representative Mario Diaz-Balart of Florida last year, has finally been approved by the House.
“But what I have said from the very beginning is that we have to have HR 2 or the functional equivalent thereof,” Johnson informed Ingraham.
“It has very important provisions. We reform asylum and the broken parole process. We restore the Trump-era ‘Remain in Mexico‘ policy, which is essential. And you end catch-and-release,” he added.
“We need to rebuild the wall. There are other elements as well, but some of those are essential to stop the flow,” the speaker said.
The president’s willingness to take on “big things” at the border is not quite obvious. The New York Post claims that although Biden has acknowledged the issue, he has declined to accept responsibility for starting the situation.
“No, it’s not,” Biden responded to a question about how secure the border was. However, he then seemed to attribute the problem to Republicans, saying, “I haven’t believed that for the last 10 years, and I’ve said it for the last 10 years. Give me the money.”
Nonetheless, many in his administration—including members of his Cabinet and agency heads—continue to deny that the border is currently in a chaotic situation.
In a Democratic presidential primary debate in 2019, Biden stated, “I would in fact make sure that there is — we immediately surge to the border — all those people are seeking asylum, they deserve to be heard, that’s who we are. We’re a nation that says if you want to flee and you’re fleeing oppression, you should come.”
