While addressing a heckler at a campaign rally in Iowa on Sunday, former president Donald Trump displayed his distinctive manner. Trump smirked, as usual, and urged the woman to “go home to mommy.”
With a little under 48 hours to go until the Iowa caucuses, the former president has been jumping from one event to another across the Hawkeye state. While speaking at an event in Indianola, a woman interrupted him by yelling Trump, Trump! You’ve taken billions,” before she was drowned out by boos from the audience.

“Thank you,” a smirking Trump said. That’s alright… go home to mommy, your mommy is waiting.”
It’s not just Trump who has seen hecklers in recent days. Moreover, Vivek Ramaswamy had to cope with unruly demonstrators about climate change. They chanted things like “the planet is on fire” and “Vivek is a liar,” around twelve of them interrupting him. To have their voices heard, they arranged themselves thoughtfully across the space.
One protestor was standing right in front of the Republican candidate, holding a banner that said, “Vivek: Climate Criminal.”
“The planet is not on fire,” an undeterred Ramaswamy stated.
A guy in another Iowan community offered Florida Governor Ron DeSantis a “participation trophy” in an unusual gesture. Before being led out of the event, the guy said clearly that he thought DeSantis had no chance of winning in Iowa.
As Republican contenders compete for support before the Iowa caucuses, the late campaign drama unfolds. With almost 53 percent of the vote, the former president Trump is still the front-runner with a sizable polling edge. With this, he now leads his nearest rival, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, by a significant 35 points.
