You’ll be furious with ESPN for their startling choice to placate the awakened crowd.

Riley Gaines, a former University of Kentucky swimmer, received a harsh message from former SportsCenter anchor Sage Steele, who revealed that network executives had prevented her from speaking out on Twitter regarding the controversy surrounding Lia Thomas, a biological male, who competed on the University of Pennsylvania women’s swim team.

Steele advocated for women’s sports while Thomas won matches against biological females.

Steele said that’s when her supervisors intervened and made an attempt to silence her.

After receiving the order to stand down from her superiors, Steele resisted and then attacked Lia Thomas in another tweet, accusing her of pilfering the accomplishments of real women.

“I was asked to stop tweeting about it. I was asked to stop doing anything [and] saying anything about it on social media because I was offending others at the company. I made sure I sent up another tweet that night after I received that email because like, no,” Steele stated.

The executives at ESPN told both Steele and Gaines to stop talking about the contentious issue of transgender females playing women’s sports. Sam Ponder, the anchor and liberal feminist, was also instructed not to criticize the notion that males may identify as women and play sports for girls.

“Let’s stop living in this lie,” Steele added. “And once again, oh, you’re going to you’re to silence me and Sam. She was told the same thing, for this issue, but they were going to let everybody else talk about all these other things that are not even related to sports on our sports programming.”

ALERT! Major Water Restrictions In Effect!

Steele was previously suspended by ESPN in October 2021 for his criticism of COVID-19 vaccination regulations and Barack Obama.

After that, Steele filed a lawsuit against ESPN, claiming the network had violated her First Amendment right to free expression.

Steele said in the Gaines interview that she was aware she had previously sued the network and that ESPN was trying to silence her, but she felt she couldn’t back down.

“I already had the lawsuit going. I didn’t know how it was going to end,” Steele added. “But I literally said, ‘This is the hill I will die on 100 percent because it’s facts.’ This is not even my opinion about a vaccine mandate or whatever, these are facts. This is science, this is biology. This is all of the things. Come at me. Tell me I’m wrong. Tell me to stop supporting women. Go ahead, tell me.”

After a while, Steele left ESPN, claiming she was prevented from airing her opinions.

It was a sign of a larger illness that affects ESPN and the media in general, whereby outlets feel compelled to provide the “correct” side of any given argument and believe that any dissenting viewpoints constitute “hate speech” or “misinformation,” and as such, should be suppressed or cancelled.
