Former President Donald Trump was taken off the state’s ballot by Shenna Bellows, the unelected secretary of state of Maine, a move that was supported by U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD). The far-left Democrat also demanded that Clarence Thomas abstain from a decision regarding the Biden Department of Justice’s use of felonies classified as “obstruction of an official proceeding,” which served as the foundation for Jack Smith’s indictment on January 6 and was utilized to imprison hundreds of protestors on the same day.
“I think that the urgency is for the Supreme Court to act, but I think it’s going to be tough for some of them if they want to keep Trump on the ballot, if they’re falling for the argument that this is undemocratic,” Raskin told CNN. ” I mean, is it undemocratic that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jennifer Granholm can’t run for president because they weren’t born in the country? If you think about it, of all the forms of disqualification we have, the one that disqualifies people for engaging in insurrection is the most democratic.”

It has not been proven or prosecuted against Trump that he incited a “insurrection” on January 6, 2021. Still, Bellows decided to strike him from the vote because she thought he had incited one. As a January 6 Committee member, Raskin has often repeated the “insurrection” narrative that emerged after the protests in the Capitol.
Regarding the Supreme Court, Raskin contended that Justice Clarence Thomas ought to be barred from presiding over the impending case involving “obstruction of an official proceeding” due to ethical transgressions.
“Well, finally the Supreme Court has developed what they’re describing as a code of ethics. It’s not binding in the sense that they’re not going to anyone else. They could have gone to, for example, circuit court justices. You could have had state Supreme Court justices on a panel. But so they’re deciding for themselves, again, whether they’re in violation of their code of ethics,” Raskin said.
“But I think anybody looking at this in any kind of dispassionate, reasonable way would say if your wife was involved in the big lie and claiming that Donald Trump had actually won the presidential election, had been agitating for that and participating in the events leading up to January 6th, that you shouldn’t be participating in… So he should recuse himself.”

Don’t know what country Raskin has been living in, but the United States is not a 3rd world dictatorship!!! For being a Congressman of these United States, he has very limited knowledge of this country. He lacks an understanding what the forefathers stood for. Basic civics class 101 would help. The partisan garbage that the democRATS spew is unbelievable.
And again, Raskin proves what a democratic/socialist hoar (mispelled on purpose) he has always been, and remains one too this day. Hopefully his cancer treatment is less than successful.
