Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability James Comer (R-KY) and Chairman of the Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan (R-OH) have revealed an intriguing new investigation. The emphasis of the probe is over claims that President Joe Biden may have obstructed his son Hunter’s efforts to assist the house in its impeachment proceedings.

As stated in the statement, “In light of an official statement from the White House that President Biden was aware in advance that his son, Hunter Biden, would knowingly defy two congressional subpoenas, we are compelled to examine as part of our impeachment inquiry whether the President engaged in a conspiracy to obstruct a proceeding of Congress.”
Hunter Biden has been subpoenaed by the House Committees on Oversight and Accountability and the Judiciary for a deposition that is set for December 13. Hunter, nevertheless, failed to show up for the compulsory deposition. Rather, he refused to comply with the subpoenas by making a public statement before the US Capitol.

Comer was incensed that Hunter, who had insisted on a testimony being made public, had opted to forego the proceedings. “We expect to depose the president’s son and then we’ll be more than happy to have a public hearing,” He continued, saying that the “mountain” of material his group, he said, had produced will soon be available for reporters to examine.
When questioned about President Biden’s knowledge of his son’s remarks, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the President was “certainly familiar with what his son was going to say.” The statement implied that the President knew in advance of his son’s choice to ignore the subpoenas.
Comer and Jordan have made references to the seriousness of these claims, stating, “The Committees have accumulated substantial evidence that Hunter Biden’s business endeavors have improperly included his father, and the President has made false claims about his knowledge and involvement in these schemes.”
