launching a never-before-seen assault on Trump’s power and the executive privilege, putting the fundamental separation of powers cornerstone of the constitution in jeopardy.
As seen Jack Smith was there for Pence’s five-hour grand jury testimony in April.
A leak to ABC News claims that Mike Pence informed Jack Smith that Trump nearly brought the nation to a “constitutional crisis” by hiring a number of “crank” attorneys who promoted “un-American” legal ideas.
On January 6, 2021, Pence also informed federal investigators that Trump was behaving “recklessly.”
“In the first few days after the election, Pence never saw any “significant allegations of fraud,” according to what he told Smith’s team, sources said. But Trump still declared victory — and claimed there was “a major fraud in our nation” — within hours of polls closing, though Pence allegedly told investigators he believes Trump was speaking “in very general terms,” not about specific instances of fraud.” ABC reported.

According to ABC News:
Former Vice President Mike Pence provided horrifying details to the special counsel Jack Smith’s team earlier this year about how, following the 2020 election, then-President Donald Trump surrounded himself with “crank” lawyers, espoused “un-American” legal theories, and nearly brought the nation to a “constitutional crisis,” according to people familiar with Pence’s statements to investigators.
In the days leading up to January 6, 2021, when a violent mob attempted to prevent Congress from certifying the election, Pence reportedly told investigators he was “sure” that he had not yet seen any evidence of significant election fraud. However, Trump remained unfazed, continuing to insist that the election was “stolen” and acting “recklessly” on that “tragic day.”
The special counsel team looking into attempts to rig the 2020 election has spoken with Pence, the highest-ranking current or former government official, to yet. What he reportedly told investigators—described exclusively to ABC News—adds to the body of information that Smith’s team has gathered in their prosecution of Trump for allegedly attempting to “erode public faith” in democratic institutions and “remain in power” illegally.
Nobody was shocked to learn that Mike Pence was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential contest.
