Contentious Judge Engoron criticizes the former president and brings Trump to court, saying he violated the gag order. The outcome? $10,000 in fines.
New York Attorney General Letitia James is requesting $250 million in “damages” for a fraud case in which there isn’t a single identifiable victim. She also wants to outlaw any economic dealings that Trump and his sons may have in the state.
Arthur Engoron is called a “partisan judge” by President Trump, who also attacks Michael Cohen as a “discredited witness.”
“He’s a felon, convicted felon for lying, went to jail for lying, and this is their only witness,” Trump told the press. “When you think about it, it’s pretty amazing.”
Trump vehemently defends his enormous wealth and the priceless possessions that make up his enterprise.
“The financial statements that we use were very conservative,” The previous president continued. “In addition to that, we have a disclaimer, which is go out and do your own due diligence, don’t necessarily believe what you read. Judge Engoron grills Trump over his remarks made to reporters, focusing on whether or not he was referring to Cohen in particular. Trump replies with a solid “yes” to his assertion.
