An outspoken activist named Ali has been publicly criticizing Israel on LinkedIn and Instagram. She earnestly dreams of a time when the militants of Hamas would free the Palestinians from their possession of the West Bank and Gaza.

when losing her job at the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in Washington, D.C. when the organization was expelled from the nation by the Trump administration, Ali, who blogs under the pseudonym “Falestine Mi Amor,” was employed by DHS in 2019. She was charged with performing duties as a “Asylum Officer” there “applying immigration laws and regulations to asylum applications.”
Ali joined the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service (CIS) as a “Adjudication Officer” in January. According to the organization, this position is in charge of “analyz[ing] new or amended legislation and policy, prepar[ing] written reports of findings, and review[ing] and mak[ing] determinations on cases for immigration benefits.” Adjudication officers are also on the front lines checking new arrivals for potential domestic terrorist threats.
When asked by The Daily Caller if Ali was investigated before being hired or still works for CIS, a department of DHS, a spokeswoman stated “USCIS strongly condemns antisemitism and the use of violent rhetoric in any form.”
“USCIS employees are held to high ethical standards both on and off duty, including their presence on social media,” Matthew Bourke, a spokesperson for DHS, said. “Any violation of these standards is taken seriously by the agency.”
CIS declined to comment on whether Ali had been thoroughly vetted before being hired, but said in a statement that “applicants seeking employment with USCIS are thoroughly vetted and subject to extensive security and background checks before they can receive a permanent position with the agency.”

When prompted for remark, Ali declined to apologize for her prior opinions or employment records. She also declined to say if she had told the DHS the truth about her earlier involvement with the PLO before entering the federal agency.
“That’s none of your f***ing business. Mind your business before I call the police. If I were you I’d respectfully hang up the phone right now,” she told a reporter with the Daily Caller.
When asked if her pro-Hamas beliefs interfered with her duties at work, she said, “That does not affect the ability to do my job at all. You can mind your own business.”
Ali endorsed a boycott of Israel and the cessation of its financial assistance from the United States under the Obama administration.
