Morning Joe Stunned: Trump Leads Biden in Issue Trust!

Former President Donald Trump’s polling advantage over President Joe Biden on numerous important areas, including the economy and inflation, stunned the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday.

Republicans outnumber Democrats in areas such as national security, with the biggest margins ever recorded.

“There’s been one poll after another poll after another poll this week that has shown that the Republicans are just absolutely bashing Democrats when it comes to issues,” to begin the segment, host Joe Scarborough said.

“In fact, Gallup had a poll a few days ago where they reported the largest gap between Republicans and Democrats since they started taking these polls. And despite the fact Republicans have a massive lead, we always go late. How can people still go along and Republicans to go along with Donald Trump?” he asked.

According to a recent Gallup poll, Republicans have a 14-point edge (53% to 39%) over Democrats on their capacity to keep the country prosperous.

This is the largest disparity since Gallup began asking the topic in 1991. Going into last year’s midterm elections, the GOP had a 10% advantage.

According to a recent poll, Republicans were trusted by 57 percent of respondents to safeguard the country from international terrorist and military threats, while Democrats were trusted by 35 percent. This is the greatest disparity since Gallup began asking this topic in 2002.

The survey was conducted by phone with 1,016 American adults from September 1 to September 23. The margin of error was +/- 4%.

“It’s amazing the advantage Republicans have going into this election on the issues, and yet Donald Trump keeps dragging them down,” Scarborough argued.

Contrary to Scarborough’s assertion, recent poll averages show Trump leading Biden by 1.1 percent, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis lags the incumbent by 1.5 percent.

Jonathan Lemire, a panelist on “Morning Joe,” also highlighted the results of the Marquette Law School Poll, which showed Trump leading Biden by 51 to 48 percent among registered voters.

According to the most recent poll results, Biden has a slim 51-49 percent lead among potential voters. While MSNBC emphasized Biden’s lead in this category, they neglected to note that Trump leads among registered voters. Marquette presented this important data directly at the start of the poll findings.

Trump outperforms Biden in a number of critical categories, including the economy, border security, inflation, and job growth. Furthermore, he has a 5-point advantage against Biden in foreign policy.

Biden has a two-point lead in Medicare and Social Security policy, a nine-point lead in abortion policy, and a commanding twenty-point lead in climate change policy.

MSNBC’s visualization of the Marquette poll results shows Trump leading Biden on a variety of themes. Lemire, on the other hand, described it as a Republican edge rather than a Trump win.

“It’s a close race. We know that,” Lemire observed, regarding Trump versus Biden in 2024. “But look at this. Republicans or Democrats on issues like inflation, the economy, immigration —these are 25, nearly 30 point margins creating jobs.”

“It’s unbelievable,” Scarborough, who appeared surprised, responded.

“Huge, huge numbers,” Lemire said. “Now, the other way, Democrats, as you might expect, more trusted more on climate change, abortion policy, health care, Medicare and the like. But elections so often…are decided on the economy. And these are big warning signs here,” he added.

“And certainly, there have been some other surveys and swing state voters, particularly among suburban voters who dislike Trump immensely but still really disapprove of how this White House has handled the economy,” Lemire said.

He stated that the White House believes the economy is improving and that the narrative will begin to shift in the coming year.

“I don’t think that narrative is going to change,” Scarborough responded. “The economists are saying we may still be heading for a hard landing.”

“The White House is starting to realize they made a really bad mistake with this Bidenomics rollout,” he added. “It’s not working. You can’t convince people the economy’s going great when they don’t feel like the economy’s going great.”

The Marquette poll, which was conducted nationwide, was based on data obtained from 1,007 persons between September 18 and September 25. The survey’s margin of error is +/- 4.1 percent.
