Donald Trump’s exclusion from the presidential election owing to suspected involvement in the Capitol riots was denied by the Supreme Court.
As is customary in instances it declines to reconsider, the court made its judgment without providing any justification or voting history. John Anthony Castro, a tax lawyer and recurrent candidate who moved from being a Democrat to a Republican after the 2020 election, filed the lawsuit. According to Castro, President Trump disqualified himself from running for office if he “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or “given aid or comfort” to insurrectionists. This is in violation of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
The new ruling provides some solace for Trump’s legal team, but they still have to deal with issues at the state level in Minnesota and Colorado. Election authorities in places like New Hampshire are likewise thinking about the same issues at the moment.
Castro requested help from the court in filings he filed announcing his intention to oppose President Trump for the GOP nomination.
“A primary candidate has judicial standing to bring a claim challenging the eligibility of a fellow primary candidate for competitive injury in the form of a diminution of votes and/or fundraising if the primary candidate believes that the fellow primary candidate is ineligible to hold public office and to prevent actions irreconcilable with the U.S. Constitution,” Castro sent the court a letter.
“The framers of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment specifically designed it to remove overwhelming popular pro-insurrectionists from the ballot. As such, Castro is not simply within the ‘zone’ of interests; Castro is the precise type of person that the framers of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment specifically sought to politically protect while Trump is the precise type of person they sought to disqualify,” he added.

Castro is not regarded as posing a serious threat to the president since he hasn’t qualified for many GOP debates or earned a lot of media attention. In his denial of any role in the J6 riots, President Trump has called any legal actions against him a “witch hunt” designed to hurt his prospects of beating Vice President Joe Biden in the forthcoming election.

Castro is an idiot! Trump has every right to question to validity of the 2020 election. On J6 he plainly asked protesters to protest peacefully and respect law enforcement. He is not responsible for the actions of some adults that day. Castro doesn’t have a prayer in hell of competing with Donald J. Trump for the GOP nomination. Castro is a NOBODY!
