Just In: Hochul’s Stunning Admission on Sanctuary State

The Democratic governor of New York, who earlier favored allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the country, now expresses concern that the city is being overrun by the growing number of migrant arrivals.

“We have to let the word out, that when you come to New York, you’re not going to have more hotel rooms, we don’t have capacity,’ Hochul said on CNN. “So we have to also message properly that we’re at our limit – if you’re going to leave your country, go somewhere else.”

Hochul’s remarks show that she has completely changed her mind about illegal immigration since then. She had previously gushed about how welcoming New York was to illegal immigrants, even promising to use government money to house them and protect them.

“As you know, the Statue of Liberty is inscribed. It says, ‘give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to [breathe] free,’ Hochul said as recently as 2021, according to MailOnline. “You’re welcome with open arms and we’ll work to keep you safe … We’ll not only house you, but we’ll protect you.”

Her recent comments highlighted the urgent issue of the massive influx of thousands of migrants that New York City and other regions of the state are currently dealing with.

Since last spring, over 110,000 migrants have descended on the city, clogging up public services after being bussed in from border states like Texas.

Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, adds his voice to the worry about unlimited immigration and warns that if it is not addressed, it might be disastrous for the city.

“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to — I don’t see an ending to this,” Adams said at a public town hall earlier this month. “This issue will destroy New York City.”

Adams has a history of supporting illegal immigration, just like Hochul does.

He went to the city’s Port Authority in August of last year and encountered a busload of migrants there. He pledged to offer them the essential services they require.

“As the mayor of New York, I have to provide services families that are here, and that’s what we’re going to do — our responsibility as a city, and I’m proud that this is a Right to Shelter state, and we’re going continue to do that.”

More than just New York is impacted by the immigration crisis; the entire nation is affected.

The startling figure of 3.8 million persons who have entered the country since Joe Biden assumed office in January 2021, over half of them entered the country illegally and have not yet been apprehended, was revealed by the New York Post on Thursday.
