Massie Unleashes Fury on Garland’s Epps Hypocrisy!

Conservatives were upset by the Biden Justice Department’s choice to simply file one count of criminal charges against Ray Epps for his role in the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021, according to Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY). This raises the question: Why is U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland tolerating this double standard when on January 6th, other Americans will be charged with more serious offenses?

“You’ve got the guy on video saying go into the Capitol, he’s directing people to the Capitol… He’s at the site of the first breach. You’ve got all the goods on him, ten videos, and it’s an indictment for a misdemeanor?” Massie wonders incredulously. “Meanwhile you’re sending grandmas to prison. You’re putting people away for 20 years for merely filming. Some people weren’t even there!”

Epps is charged with forcibly entering a government facility and interfering with official business, although her accusations are less serious than those of the other J6 members. According to video footage, Epps may have given commands.

Contrary to claims, Epps is not an FBI agent who was planted to covertly incite a disturbance that would incriminate former President Donald Trump and his followers, AG Garland said during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.

“With respect to Mr. Epps, the FBI has said that he was not an employee or informant of the FBI. Mr. Epps has been charged and there’s a proceeding I believe going on today on that subject,” said Garland.

Rep. Massie said, “The charge is a joke,” before reverting to Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Epps, who was responsible for the original breach on the Capitol and managed to avoid capture for more than two years, is the subject of unending rumor. Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund thinks it’s highly suspicious. Epps recently made an appearance on 60 Minutes, where he expressed sorrow for the things he did on that crucial day.

“I said some stupid things. My thought process: we surround the Capitol, we get all the people there. I mean, I had problems with the election. It was my duty as an American to peacefully protest, along with anyone else that wanted to.”

Rep. Thomas Massie questioned why Democrats and “60 Minutes” painted Epps as a victim despite the fact that he admitted to planning the events of January 6 in a text message.

“Ray Epps is the only person I’ve seen on video January 5th and January 6th urging and directing people to go into the Capitol. In a text message on January 6th he bragged that he orchestrated it. Why do Democrats and the media portray him as the victim? So bizarre,” The Republican from Kentucky tweeted.
