McCarthy: From House Speaker to House Outcast?

This week, Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) publicly attacked House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, accusing him of failing to fulfill campaign commitments that gave him the authority to enter his leadership position in January.

According to The Hill, McCarthy allegedly lost his composure in a private meeting with Republican House members as rumors of unhappiness and outright challenges to his leadership spread.

“If you want to file a motion to vacate, then file the f*cking motion,” According to Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), McCarthy lost his cool.

“I showed frustration in here because I am frustrated,” McCarthy acknowledged to reporters following the GOP gathering. He also expressed regret that the Defense Department Appropriations Bill could not be brought to the floor, but he did not address the fundamental problems that were dividing his party.

“Frustrated with some people in the conference,” he added.

Gaetz responds right away in response to McCarthy’s outburst.

“Instead of emotionally cursing, maybe the Speaker should just keep his word from January on balanced budgets, term limits, and single-subject spending bills,” Gaetz told The Hill.

In an X post, Gaetz intensified his criticism on McCarthy. “I warned everybody in December of last year. Speaker McCarthy believes in NOTHING except money and power. In football, when the team isn’t winning the games it’s supposed to, they fire the coach. In business, when a company does not match its projected earnings, then the board gets rid of the CEO. I’ve had enough McFailure. Have you?”

McCarthy’s failure to fulfill his obligations as Speaker is criticized by Gaetz, according to The Gateway Pundit.

“On this very floor in January, the whole world witnessed a historic contest for House Speaker,” Gaetz stated in his introduction.

A single member of Congress has the authority to propose a “motion to vacate,” which has the power to remove the Speaker from office. There is serious discussion of enlisting the aid of Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell to execute this move as just a simple majority is needed for removal.

“I rise today to serve notice. Mr. Speaker, you are out of compliance with the agreement that allowed you to assume this role. The path forward for the House of Representatives is to either bring you into immediate total compliance or remove you, pursuant to a motion to vacate the chair.” Gaetz stated on the House floor on Tuesday.

Powerful Rep. Gaetz criticizes McCarthy for failing to vote on term limits and withholding crucial tapes from the events of January 6. criticizes the progression of Biden’s exorbitant spending and calls for responsibility from the Biden Crime Family.

Gaetz continued, “If Democrats bail out McCarthy – I will lead the resistance to this uni-party and the Biden/McCarthy/Jeffries government that they are attempting to build.”
