Democrats in Arizona have asked that Trump be taken off the ballot in 2024. But now, the Democratic Secretary of State in Arizona has admitted that doing so would be completely against the law.
In response to demands that Trump be removed from the ballot, Arizona’s Secretary of State Adrian Fontes declared “Due to a previous ruling from the Arizona Supreme Court, Trump cannot be barred from running in the state.”

Fontes also noted, “The Arizona Supreme Court said that because there’s no statutory process in federal law to enforce Section 3 of the 14th amendment, you can’t enforce it.”
In response to a Florida attorney’s claim that Trump’s participation in an uprising constituted a breach of the 14th Amendment, Fontes made some comments about the amendment.

Adrian Fontes, the secretary of state for Arizona, makes it clear that he does not have the power to remove former president Donald Trump from the state’s ballot for the 2024 election.
On the basis of the 14th Amendment, advocates and lawyers call for the removal of Donald Trump from the ballot. Notably, a Florida attorney draws attention to a provision that forbids anybody who have taken part in insurrection or rebellion from holding office.
Other activist organizations, such as Free Speech for People and Mi Familia Vota, are striving to ensure that the 14th Amendment is used to remove the 45th president from the ballot.
Fontes claims that the prior decision of the Arizona Supreme Court precludes any restrictions on Trump’s candidacy in the state.

Even though he vehemently disagrees with the ruling of the Arizona Supreme Court, Fontes said he will reluctantly follow it because Arizona law.
