The emails show that Vadym Pozharsky, a Burisma executive, emailed Hunter from his personal Gmail account and requested that he use his “influence to convey a message / signal, etc to stop what we consider to be politically motivated actions,” Pozharsky wrote, alleging that the company was the target of a blackmail attempt.

Pozharsky voiced worry that Blue Star would be required to register as a foreign agent, which might obstruct their talks with American officials. Hunter’s business partner reassured him, though, that they could figure out a method to get around this label.
‘I would tell Vadym that this is definitely done deliberately to be on the safe and cautious side and that Sally [Painter, Blue Star COO] and company understand the scope and deliverables,’ Eric Schwerin, Hunter’s business partner, wrote him a personal letter.
