Donald Trump, the former president, is currently being prosecuted on additional counts for allegedly having secret documents at his Mar-a-Lago home.
Prosecutors said on Thursday that new accusations against Trump had been brought, alleging his obstructing of investigators’ access to security camera footage.
Trump now faces a whopping 40 federal charges altogether.
According to The Post, Trump is facing a fresh accusation stemming from an alleged discussion he allegedly had at his Bedminster golf club in New Jersey in July 2021. The topic of discussion was a top-secret military report on Iran.

Trump and his aides allegedly tried to obstruct the FBI’s efforts to retrieve sensitive papers from Mar-a-Lago, according to the most recent indictment.
Waltine “Walt” Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, two Trump associates, are charged; Nauta was indicted back in June, according to the Washington Post.
Trump and Nauta both entered not-guilty pleas in response to the accusations made in the initial indictment.
De Oliveira allegedly helped Nauta move boxes at Mar-a-Lago the summer before and allegedly had conversations about security footage.

According to the Post, Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung described the most recent accusations as a desperate and fruitless attempt to harm the former president and his aides.
There were 31 accusations of knowingly retaining secret material for national defense in the initial indictment.
The three defendants are currently accused of a number of violations, including concealing, hiding, and changing objects and papers. De Oliveira is also charged with another count of lying to the FBI.

Additionally, a separate investigation of Trump’s behavior after the 2020 election and prior to the incursion into the Capitol is being carried out by special counsel Jack Smith. Trump recently stated that he expected to face charges in this matter as well.
In New York, Trump is currently facing criminal accusations, specifically for the alleged crime of manipulating financial documents. The trial is scheduled to begin in March, which gives the circumstance even more significance.
