America Last: 60K For Moving Soldier’s Remains vs. Biden’s 400M to Ukraine

The Biden administration is under fire for giving the Ukrainian military precedence over the US, raising questions about its devotion.

The amount of security support the US Department of Defense has given Ukraine has increased significantly. 400 million more dollars have been set aside to aid Ukraine’s ongoing attempts to confront Russia. This aid consists of necessary supplies like air defense missiles, armored vehicles, and mini drones. The news of this new development was originally reported by Reuters.

Through the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), which permits the president to swiftly transfer goods and services from U.S. inventories in emergency situations without requiring congressional approval, the humanitarian funds is made available. The supplies will be sourced from American surplus stockpiles.

Since Russia’s invasion in 2022, the US has approved 43 security assistance packages for Ukraine, amounting to a sizable sum of more than $43 billion in military support.

After learning that a Gold Star Family had to bear the cost of transferring their daughter’s remains following her terrible death during President Biden’s tumultuous exit from the Afghan War, the administration has come under fire.

23-year-old military member Nicole Gee tragically perished in a deadly suicide explosion at Kabul Airport. She was a victim of a heartbreaking attack claimed by ISIS, along with 170 desperate Afghans trying to flee their homeland. On August 26, in the chaos of the evacuation near the US embassy, this horrifying occurrence occurred.

Cory Mills, a Republican politician and Army veteran, recently recalled a wrenching encounter with the relatives of deceased soldiers. One of the heartbreaking tales told stood out among the others: a family was left to bear the cost of $60,000 to transport the remains of a loved one.

“Typically, our fallen heroes are flown back home for a solemn service and then laid to a final rest at Arlington Cemetery with the utmost respect and honor,” he told Fox News.

“It is an egregious injustice that grieving families were burdened to shoulder the financial strain of honoring their loved ones,” he added. “This is an unacceptable situation that demands immediate rectification.”

A veteran-donated private aircraft was used to transfer Gee’s remains to Arlington as a mark of respect and honor by Honoring Our dead, a non-profit group that supports the families of dead American service personnel.

First, Gee’s remains was brought to Roseville, California, where she was born and raised, for a memorial service. Her family was later informed that they would be responsible for covering the costs of moving her to Arlington National Cemetery, where she would be laid to rest.

The military department is now entitled to withhold funding for the transportation of departed service members’ bodies, according to Mills’ office, which made this point clear when the National military Authorization Act was modified. According to the amendment, the secretary of defense has the power to lift restrictions on commercial aviation travel in order to carry the remains of service members who pass away in conflict areas.

In order to relieve the financial impact on mourning families, Mills urges the defense department to assume responsibility for paying transportation expenses for deceased service personnel.

Nicole Gee, a female Marine tragically killed in the Kabul explosion, had a close relationship with Misty Fuoco, her older sister. Nicole constantly gushed about her commitment to and enthusiasm for the crucial duty she was carrying out in Afghanistan.

Nicole devoted herself to helping others and was a fervent supporter of good mental health. A few days before she tragically passed away, she sent her sister a touching note in which she expressed her great love for her family and her immense delight about an impending departure.

The subject’s older sister, Misty Fuoco, disclosed that her sister routinely sent her encouraging notes from Kabul praising how amazing her job was. Misty also commended her sister’s courage.

“She was a big advocate of positive mental health and helping others and she was just absolutely thrilled with the work she was doing in Afghanistan,” she said.

“She and I didn’t get to communicate as much as we did before she was deployed but when she did, she would let me know [she was safe],” she added.

Less than two weeks before to her death, on August 14, Nicole wrote to Misty in a message: “Don’t be scared either! There’s a lot in the news lately… But there’s a LOT of Marines and soldiers going to provide security. We’ve been training for this evacuation and it’s actually happening so I’m excited for it. Hopefully it’s successful and safe. I love you!!!”

Nicole’s tragic passing has left her family and friends in shock and sorrow, as they struggle to accept the heartbreaking reality of her premature passing.

The unfair treatment of Ukraine and our country’s esteemed families is indicative of the present administration’s misdirected objectives. The American taxpayers are being shortchanged while providing Ukraine with billions of cash for an illegitimate proxy war. This discrepancy exhibits a worrying trend and casts doubt on President Biden’s dedication to putting America first.
