Outrageous: Biden Charges Marine’s Family $60K for Transport!

Leave no man behind is the slogan of the US military, which is what its commanders are supposed to do. ‘leave no man behind…so long as their family pays for it,’ is a new addition to the adage that the Pentagon has reportedly established. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) told Fox News Digital that he was “enraged to learn that the Department of Defense had placed a heavy financial burden” on the family of a Marine Corps soldier who had died so that her remains could be transported to her last resting place in Arlington National Cemetery.

Sergent Nicole L. Gee’s family had the difficult challenge of obtaining $60,000 to transport her remains from Roseville, California, to Arlington after she sadly died in Afghanistan in 2021. The assistance of Honoring Our Fallen, a charity that supports military people, lessened their burden. It is crucial to remember that a recent change to the National Defense Authorization Act allowed the government to refuse to pay for these costs.

The seasoned legislator from Florida insisted that this was unacceptable and that the government should be in charge of making such arrangements rather than leaving it up to the family. He stated: “Typically, our fallen heroes are flown back home for a solemn service and then laid to a final rest at Arlington Cemetery with the utmost respect and honor…It is an egregious injustice that grieving families were burdened to shoulder the financial strain of honoring their loved ones. This is an unacceptable situation that demands immediate rectification.”

Regarding this incident, the Pentagon made no remark to Fox News. However, Representative Mills has used Twitter to make this case public. The Florida lawmaker said that “At no time should our Gold Star families be financially responsible for burying their loved ones and American heroes.”

The public’s reactions to that tweet seem to support Mr. Mills’ claims. Chevelle remarked on Twitter, “And at no time in History should these Heros be forgotten. Although we cannot give them the same Honor of the Unnamed Soldier, We need to give them the utmost Honor and Respect for giving their Life for those of us that still live the American dream. It is from them that we live.”

Stalin, a different Twitter user, made the following observations about the politics of the scenario: “But what if the corpse identified as a living person who wanted an abortion in their home town? Pentagon would pay for that in a heartbeat.”
