Jack Smith’s Latest Move: Trump Indictment Looming?

The anticipated indictment of former President Donald J. Trump for his interference in the 2020 election is almost complete, according to Special Counsel Jack Smith.

Jack Smith’s office contacted Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp on the ongoing investigation into former President Donald Trump and his associates’ attempts to contest the validity of the results of the 2020 election.

Following Trump’s statement on TRUTH Social, Smith’s staff contacted Kemp, according to the Washington Post. Trump claimed to have gotten a letter from Smith informing him that a grand jury was looking into what happened on January 6.

Smith’s activities point to a potential link between his inquiry and the queries made by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Willis has been looking into any state law violations by Trump and his friends since the beginning of 2021 in an effort to overturn his close loss to President Biden in Georgia.

Willis began her inquiry shortly after President Trump told Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in January 2021 that he could assist in “finding” the ballots required to reverse his electoral defeat in the state.

Trump’s effort to have the special grand jury report blocked was just refused by the Georgia Supreme Court. Willis has given signals that charges may be brought by September 1st.

Raffensperger was interrogated by Smith’s office detectives in Atlanta last month, according to The Post.

Kemp finally recognized Biden’s victory in the Georgia 2020 presidential election, while first backing Trump.

Former President Trump backed David Perdue as a rival against Kemp in the 2022 primary race. Nevertheless, Kemp won both the primary and the general election despite this support. It is important to remember that Kemp was also questioned by Willis’s office detectives as part of her investigation last year, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.

According to CNN, Smith’s office recently got in touch with former Arizona governor Doug Ducey as part of the Department of Justice’s investigation into Trump.

This week saw a surprising change of events as Donald Trump publicly condemned Truth Social in response to reports that Special Counsel Jack Smith intended to file charges against him for his suspected role in the rioting on January 6.

“The Democrat prosecutors waited years to bring charges so that they could interfere with the 2024 presidential election. they are getting, however, big blowback!” he wrote.

Trump continued, “for the first time in the history of the USA, lawyers, and the legal system itself, are under siege…all a gift from crooked Joe Biden, Merrick Garland, and deranged prosecutor, Jack Smith!”

In 2000, 2004, and 2016, the Democratic Party took part in the presidential elections. There were no charges brought against them for their constitutionally authorized acts. However, their unfounded allegations caused rioting when Trump was duly elected in 2016.

  1. I feel J> Smith is a Democratic hit man only trying to stop from being elected again. Sorry nothing in writing to stop him if convicted.
