Everyone’s attention was drawn to Megyn Kelly’s unexpected piece of advise for Ron DeSantis.

Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, is now the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, rivaling the late President Donald Trump.

He sparked a lot of interest when he entered the race, but he is still well behind Trump in the polls.

Megyn Kelly, a well-known former presenter of Fox News, encourages DeSantis to change up his campaign strategy in order to make headway against the former President.

The Daily Signal got the chance to speak with her while she was at the Turning Point Action conference in Florida.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy were also in the race, but Kelly declared DeSantis the undisputed winner after winning the Tucker Carlson-moderated Family Leadership Summit event.

With the exception of Trump, the most of the well-known GOP contenders were present at the Iowa event where Carlson conducted one-on-one interviews with them.

“I think DeSantis is starting to find his groove,” Kelly commented on the Carlson interview with the governor of Florida. “He’s getting better at this. It was the best he’s done on Ukraine and a number of other issues.”

DeSantis lacks Trump’s personality, but Kelly said that “He’s a smart, technocratic, get-‘er-done kind of guy.”

She highlighted that at this point, it would be premature to write out the DeSantis campaign.

“I think the larger narrative is that DeSantis has stalled, right?” Kelly said. “But it is relatively early, and he’s got $150 million in his war chest, so it’s too early to pronounce his campaign over it. Having said that, it hasn’t been gangbusters. He got sort of a false start with that Twitter Spaces thing. And he’s not a natural retail politician, but if you watch the guy enough, I think eventually he will win you over.”

Throughout his time as governor and even during his run for president, DeSantis has purposefully avoided the mainstream media, favoring conservative sources instead.

Kari Lake, a candidate for governor of Arizona, was used as an example by Kelly. Despite having fewer successes, Lake successfully handles the problems the media poses.

“I really think the number one thing he needs to do is get himself in front of adversarial liberal media and fight,” Kelly said. “Go on MSNBC! That’s what I would tell him to do.”

She recommended venues like CNN and NBC’s Meet the Press as possible venues for DeSantis to address the media.

“Everybody is left-wing other than sort-of-Fox and digital media,” Kelly continued. “So, take your pick but he should get out there and fight.”

She emphasized the fact that DeSantis has a comparable quality to Trump’s, despite the fact that he has not yet encountered similar conditions, and said that conservatives respect Trump for his fights with the media.

By arranging an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, DeSantis has undergone a notable shift in his media strategy.

Ron DeSantis’ ability to advance in the GOP Primary may depend on his ability to communicate with the media.
