FBI is informed of a concerning foreign cooperation attempt by Jim Jordan.
The “Twitter Files,” which were recently made public by Twitter’s owner Elon Musk, revealed a significant censorship operation carried out by the FBI during the former administration of the well-known social media company.
An FBI censorship plan involving a foreign nation has been revealed by the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal nation of the House Judiciary Committee, led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).
The FBI worked with a Ukrainian intelligence agency, according to a preliminary report from the panel, to filter social media posts that was thought to be Russian misinformation.
According to the article, the FBI collaborates with social media firms to identify information and accepts requests from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
Successfully infiltrating the SBU, Russian intelligence officers convinced the FBI to delete accounts that supported Ukraine and were critical of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
To target American journalists and a verified U.S. government social media account, FBI conspired with a Russian agency that had been compromised.
The analysis was created using records that were obtained under subpoena from Alphabet, the parent firm of Google and YouTube, as well as Meta, the corporation that owns Facebook and Instagram.

The SBU designated the State Department’s official Russian-language Instagram account for deletion for disseminating “content that promotes war, inaccurately reflects events in Ukraine, justifies Russian war crimes in Ukraine in violation of international law.”
The FBI persevered in adhering to the SBU’s censoring demands despite concerns of compromise from the Ukrainian government.
“It is unclear why the Ukrainian government would seek to remove one of the State Department’s verified Instagram accounts,” the report stated. “However, according to President Zelenksyy, the SBU was widely infiltrated by Russian-aligned forces during this period. What is even more astonishing is that the FBI either negligently or intentionally relayed the SBU’s request to remove an official U.S. government account to Meta.”
In response to Russian infiltration, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fired the SBU chief in July 2022.
The article claims that either the FBI failed to look into the American social media accounts that the SBU had marked for suppression or that it did and continued nevertheless.
The names of the targeted American journalists were omitted from the report. However, it made notice of the correspondence between the FBI and Yoel Roth, Twitter’s former chief censor, about the flagging of journalist accounts in the United States and Canada.
“Put simply, the FBI worked with and on behalf of a foreign intelligence agency – widely known to be compromised by Moscow at the time—and directly abetted efforts to censor Americans engaging in protected speech,” the report added. “The FBI had no legal justification for facilitating the censorship of Americans’ protected speech on social media.”
It has been shown that the FBI violated the right to free expression and may have worked with the Russian government.
